Chef Adam Event Flyer

Chef Adam Graham contacted me to create an event flyer that showcased my unique style his book signing of the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Raw Food Detox. After combing through hundreds of files, I created his mascot and the kitchen sort of created itself. The event turned out to be a raging success and I’m happy to say that he was pleased with my design. I’m looking forward to working with this fabulous chef in the future!

Dr. Gooey Productions

Over the course of my friendship with Gooey, I created several logos for her. I created this one over a year ago. Gosh, actually, that must have been in 2010, now that I think of it. I’ll never forget the phone call I got from her. It must have been like 11 at night and as soon as I said hello, she was blurting out the idea! She was just gushing about her idea for a logo where ultimately, the animated version (surprise, there’s gonna be an animated version) would fart and show the logo lettering. She was like that. I got working on the logo immediately and this was what I came up with.

Later, I animated her and that was by far, a raging success. You can see that below:

Now I feel like I’m onto something special here. I cleaned up last month’s Chef Areeya mascot and designed a retro kitchen for her. I didn’t want to overwhelm the flyer with too much “stuff”, but I did add some finer details, the blender on the counter, mixer in the cupboard, etc. This really worked well with a monochromatic palette. I can only hope this flyer brings in even more guests!

Dogwalkers Logo and Business Card Design

I’ve recently been contracted to create a simple logo and business card for a Las Vegas-based dog-walking service, The Dogwalkers. Because of the types of dogs they often handle (huge, scary-looking or what I lovingly refer to as “miniature ponies”), they were trying to avoid the cutesy, dog bone or paw-print designs rampant in that industry. In fact, they were really leaning toward a design that included a font-face much like the Sopranos with a cammo green and yellow palette.

Flameology approached me about creating a logo for them that represented their love for FIRE. They wanted something vivid that would really make an impact online or in print. That’s when I summoned my Photoshop powers and went to work.

Minerva’s Soap Bath and BodyKraft is a passion I’ve had for some time. It’s my favorite side project and I’m finally moving forward with bringing this dream to fruition.

For this logo, I really wanted to go with a shabby chic look with the Minja character in a tub this time. After many hours in Illustrator, I was finally satisfied. Then it was time to work on the labels.

The November flyer for GoRawwas surprisingly easy to pull out of the creative ether. I’m a big fan of retro and wanted to create something with a vintage look but still modern. So I found myself combing the web for inspiration from the 50s & 60s. Before I knew it I had dozens of images tucked into an “inspiration” folder. I finally settled on a few images of dishware I found on Flickr.
